KNEE ARTHROSIS

Arthrosis of the knee (or gonarthrosis) is a degenerative pathology that affects the cartilage lining of the femur, tibia and very often the patella, i.e. the 3 structures that are part of the knee joint.

The advantage of the direct approach is the preservation of much of the joint structure. The patient also experiences less post-operative pain, less blood loss and, consequently, a faster post-operative recovery.

Dr. Franco Baldo performs the surgery of monocompartmental knee prosthesis with the traditional technique and robotic surgery. The aforementioned approach involves an incision below the vastus medialis and, consequently, a complete saving of the quadriceps muscle.

The surgical act lasts longer than with the traditional technique, but has the advantage of allowing a faster and less painful rehabilitation. This happens because the muscular and ligament trauma is really minimal.
